On
special occasion, Murviel Castle can offer its historical and original
setting to its guests for organising receptions or special events:
fine
arts exhibitions, wine and other local products testing, or residential
seminars, and receptions up to 60 or 80 people in our diverse
rooms and
salons. Conditions
for Seminars facilities, rooms and restauration are fixed on a case
by case basis.
The grand room of Aymar and Salsans, recently
restored, is composed of two parts at the ground level of the medieval
wing :
- the oldest exposes the very foundations
of the first castle to be mentionned as Manfred's in 1053 on a map
of Béziers region; this northern wing was destroyed in 1181 by
the king of Aragon and rebuilt by Aymar de Murviel ; we call it Aymar's
room.
- the southern part opens on
the garden and doubles the former room. We guess the lords of Salsan
built it during the 15th century
and for that we
name it Salsans' room.
